10 Reviews for Breaking 80 Golf Laser Rangefinder - Lifetime Warranty Included
Good Quality Product - Friday, October 2, 2015Took my new rangefinder out to the driving range last night and the yardages were spot on. My only complaint is the black case is a little boring, but that has nothing to do with the quality of the unit.
It's very easy to use and I'm looking forward to improving my game! I received this unit as a free promotional item and this is my unbiased review of the equipment.
Satisfied - Friday, October 2, 2015I had a Leupold GX-1 which I broke (my fault). I decided to spend less for my replacement and the Breaking 80 works essentially the same as the Leupold. In fact, the Breaking 80 has a sharper image and is lighter. I would buy the Breaking 80 again. The Leupold has a more substantial feel and its carrying case is nicer but I'm very satisfied spending less and obtaining the same results.
The carts we were using had gps screens so easy to see if the range finder was accurate - Friday, October 2, 2015I took this out 9/12/15 for 18. The carts we were using had gps screens so easy to see if the range finder was accurate. This thing was spot on and easy to get the yardage. Best is in open and keep going over the flag and take the closest yardage. It was right with the gps and actually more accurate. I couldn't be happier with the purchase. The battery life I can't give an opinion but it is a battery so have a spare and good to go. Conclusion: buy it!
Happy and Pleased With My Purchase!!! - Friday, October 2, 2015The Breaking 80 laser range finder works exactly as advertised. The pin seeker function is perfect, the view of the target through the 6X eye piece is exceptionally clear and focused. Readings are accurate and appear quickly. One can read the little quick start guide that comes with the range finder and know precisely how to use the device and its liimitations. And on top of all this, it is 65% the price of the leading brand device with the same functionality.
Solid product. - Friday, October 2, 2015This product does everything that was advertised. I have used it a few times on the golf course and it seems to be accurate down to a yard or two. Don't know why anyone would spend more.
Great rangefinder! - Friday, October 2, 2015I'll start of by saying I've used several different rangefinders before. I've used this one for several rounds now. It has worked flawlessly.
There are 2 different modes that you can use. The 'scan' mode is great when you're on the tee to find distances to fairway bunkers and/or water hazards. You hold down the 'open' button and it will give you continuous yardage for 8 seconds. I'll point it at water going across the fairway and get the yardage to the front and back. Now I know if I can carry it or have to lay up.
The pin sensor mode is fantastic. I think some people might be confused how to use this mode when getting yardage to the flag. This mode has the little flag icon on the screen. I'll point the rangefinder to the background behind the green not directly on the flag. I'll then press the open button and hold it down. While holding it down I'll move the crosshairs to the flag. When you first press and hold the open button it will give you a yardage to the trees or whatever is behind the green. As you move the crosshairs to the flag it will give you the yardage to the flag. That is how the pin sensor works. It only shows the closest yardage. Say the flag is 150 yards away. When you first press and hold the open button down while you're pointing it to the trees behind the green the yardage might say 200 yards. As you keep holding down the button and hit the flag with the crosshairs it will then display 150 yards. It shows the closest yardage, which is the flag. If you move the crosshairs off the flag it will still say 150 yards because that is the closest yardage. I'm not sure if I explained that well, but I tried. Couple other things that it does that aren't in the description. It has an automatic shut off after 30 seconds. Great feature. The manual also states that it has a low battery icon that will appear when you have a low battery. I can't confirm that because I've only played a few rounds with it. This is another great feature. Hope this helps.
WHOW!! - Friday, October 2, 2015Exceeded my expectations. I have used other major brands and found that for ease of use, clarity, battery life, still on #1 after 6 rounds, the Breaking 80 cannot be beat. Even impressed a few of my die hard brand name only golfers. I have no problem picking up pins, railroad ties on water hazards, trees in play and mounds surrounding bunkers. I have checked the yardage with my techie friends and it is spot on. Best of all, you get yardage to your actual target, not front-middle or back.
Great Range Finder! - Friday, October 2, 2015I have owned a few range finders, I haven't been happy with most. This one works great, I live in the area of the North East where in the fall it rains, the spring it rains even more. I have had yet one survive the rain or be accurate. This little guy, did the trick. It survived the rain and provides bright clear images. It also has this overlapping technology which is great for those far off shots and you have deep dark woods in the back-ground. Over all very satisfied with this unit and I am buying a spare for my guests to use so they don't use mine! Love it!
As good as the much more expensive range finders - Friday, October 2, 2015When I bought the Breaking 80 Range Finder I immediately made a beeline for the golf range. I knew other golfers would be there with there very expensive range finders. I also knew that the targets on the range, greens, colored poles et al would be listed at there exact distances by the owners of the range. I don't want to write a novel, so I will simply say that my buddies with there double the price, and more, than my Breaking 80 were shocked when I came up with the same distances to a bunch of targets that they did. You could see the look in there eyes saying, "I've been ripped off." BTW The Breaking 80 has really helped on the golf courses I play. If my pinseeker locks in at let's say 137 yds, or 214 yds I pull that club without hesitation. I trust my Breaking 80 Range Finder to get me to my target. Oh yes, my game has improved.
Excellent Range Finder - Friday, October 2, 2015Have used this range finder for 2 rounds and so far it's ideal! Simple to use, does not seem to pick up background objects or give erooneous readings. Compares with my friends' more expensive range finders within +/- 1 yard when shooting same flag on the green. Compact size is perfect & comes with a nice case to protect it during storage. Can't beat the price & so far the performance is great!
